The most annoying thing about the cast on my arm was not that it made getting dressed into a chore, nor that it kept me from doing my clinic duties efficiently (no, the lingering headache and dizziness were what truly interfered with that). What annoyed me most of all was that I couldn't wash my hair properly without getting the cast wet. I had attempted to improvise by wrapping it with some plastic and tape, but that left it clumsy and useless, and me left-handed as well. So while I was theoretically able to wash my hair, the results were less than spectacular and left me extremely annoyed.
By the time I'd managed to take a shower without fainting or ruining my cast, breakfast was long over, and I stalked grumpily into the kitchen in search of tea. Perhaps that would soothe my nerves.
