Jam didn't exactly expect THAT much out of today's meeting, though she figured he wouldn't invite her over just for the hell of it- there had to be a reason. She wore a variation of her usual red cheongsam-esque garb, platter in one arm- having brought along generous serving of those creme puffs Ash liked so much. She approached his front door with no real expectation in mind for the conversation, but with the usual defenses in reserve- she still, after all, had her reservations about him.
At the sound of his visitor, Ash unfurled himself from his chair, moving gracefully towards the door... but not in his usual manner. Gone was his air of prim-and-proper mannerisms and polite up-nosing, instead replaced with something infinitely more casual. Striding to the door, he pulled it open, almost stumbling when it swung in easily. They finally fix the door, and it becomes an accident waiting to happen. Wonderful. He greeted Jam with a warm smile.
"Ahh, Jam. Again, I apologize for having to postpone like I did. Things were... too hectic here, you understand?" He held the door for her. "Please, have a seat. I'll set the tea brewing." Even his speech patterns were different... certainly not as erudite as he was known for, but still well-spoken. If someone didn't know any better...
Jam's brow raised only slightly at the near-stumble, a sign right off the bat that something was up. Well, Ash off his guard- this certainly wa an unexpected opportunity, but for what, she wasn't quite sure.. or why. Putting her first impression aside, she smiled. "Hello Ash~ It's no problem, really aru. I know how things can change last minute aru," she greeted, stepping inside as he held the door open, eyes watchful.
Taking a seat at the table where the teaset was set up, she placed the creme puffs on the table as well, uncovering them. "As you requested~ A fresh batch of creme puffs aru. Do enjoy." She took a seat and made herself comfortable, watching him idly. Oh, something was up alright..
"You are truly a woman to be revered," Ash replied with a smile. He started the pot on the stove before returning to his own seat at the table. He folded his hands over each other as he rest them on the table. "I'm glad you came, my dear. It seems I've... well, let's just say certain priorities in my life have changed." He looked lost in his own thoughts for a moment. Things must really be out of sorts for Ash to allow his guard down like that, but he felt ready to... trust, for lack of a better word.
"I didn't lie when we spoke in Las Vegas. I feel there are more similarities between us than it would first seem, on casual glance." He shifted in his chair, obviously trying to be comfortable both with his position, and with what he was preparing to tell. "I believe you have the right to know what I mean."
