Lavi sulked through the lunch line. Normally lunch was the time for Lavi to go bug Kanda to high heaven. Today, however, the japanese boy wasn't at school. It was the cold. Kanda wasn't too fond of it. And on top of that disapointment, he himself was sick. "Stupid panda and his stupid needles," he mumbled as he got his food and went to find a place to sit.

His eyes fell on a ginger-headed guy with glasses.. Kyosuke, was it? He looked stressed and in need of some cheering up. And Lavi needed to fill his "bug someone" quota. Placing a happy smile on his face, Lavi walked up to him. "Hi! Mind if i sit here?"

Kyosuke sat up, a bit caught off guard. "Oh... sure." he said, quite unenthused. "You are... Lavi, correct? Geography enthusiast?" He looked up at him for a bit, his gaze slowly shifting from one point of focus, the insides of his milk carton, to Lavi's eyepatch. It's not that he was staring, just that his gaze rested there while he lost himself in thought again.

"Cool," Lavi said, and took the seat across from him. "And it's history, not geography." He said this last thing with a wink. He noted how Kyosuke's gaze rested on his eyepatch. It didn't bother him. Most people would switch between his good eye and his eyepatch, or just look at the bridge of his nose. He was used to it by now.

"You look glum, chum. Did some girl turn you down or something?"

Funny he should mention that...

"No. Nothing like that." He blinked, realizing that he'd been staring. His eyes wandered a bit. Oh... wait... there's food in front of him. He lifted his fork and plunged it into the delicious meal, though a bit cold. His fork never made it past being set into his meal. "Though the matter does concern a girl. Yachiru."

Ash was grateful to take refuge in the cafeteria. While the snow was beautiful, he hadn't prepared to sit outside and eat in it. This wasn't to say he wanted to eat the cafeteria food, however - he would be the first to admit to having a spoiled palette. His lunch packed into a lined pouch, he scanned the tables for a place to sit. It was then that his eyes fell on Kyosuke.

"My, doesn't he look rather distressed?" He leaned over to Xellos. "This warrants a look, doesn't it?"

Xellos looked over to where Kyosuke sat, quite gloomy looking indeed. Xel hadn't exactly been having the best day himself, but he was looking his normal self still. Well, there was a tired look about him around the eyes, but he used a little make up to cover it up. No one had noticed so far.

"Yes he does... I think we should go see if there's anything the two of us can do to... help," he said, grabbing his packed lunch (smoked salmon, cold rice and a bottle of imported water) and started making his way through the rows of tables towards Kyosuke.

"Hello there... do you mind if my friend and I sit here with you?" Xellos asked, setting his bag down without waiting for an answer.

Lavi was about to say something when the two came up. He had seen Ash around, but the other guy... drawing blanks. Nevertheless, he liked meeting new people.

"I have no problem with it," he said, glancing over at Kyosuke, waiting for an answer.

:slowly lifted his head, looking to Ash and Xellos. "I suppose that's alright." he says, remembering his fork in his food. Finally, he separates a piece of the lasagna and eats. One bite, 10 minutes. "Well... anyway... Her uncle disapproves of me even being her friend. I think he got the wrong impression due to Nina's Rumor Mill."
