Simon kicked back his drink and tossed the cup in the general direction of the nearest garbage. He knew he probably shouldn't be drinking anything, but he needed an excuse for what he was about to do. Kamina was right - he should be hosting his party at his own house, but that would never've worked, so he resolved to try and make up for it by being a co-host for the night.

He climbed up on the other arm rest. "Listen up people!" he yelled, slightly quieter than Kamina. "As the birthday guy, I'm orderin' ya'll to have a good time!" He pointed at the ceiling in a copy of Kamina's favorite pose. "Now all'a ya raise the roof and pierce the heavens with your partyin' spirit!"

He held the pose and looked across the couch at Kamina with a grin and a thumbs-up with his free hand.

Simon's speech wasn't as epic, but he got major points for trying at least. Kamina knew the boy would have a good time if he just loosened up some.

"Well said soul bro!" Kamina shouted, climbing over the back end of the couch to put Simon into a playful headlock, even with it being occupied by a few people. "Tonight's a night of celebratin', so Lord Kamina of the Great Gurren Brigade says everyone party hard!!" He concluded with a noogie to Simon's head.

Simon's attempt at a cool pose ended suddenly and was replaced by him flailing his arms wildly in a futile attempt to escape from Kamina's headlock and noogie, to the laughter of the people watching.

He'd have to figure out how to get out of a headlock later, hopefully without either of them having to punch each other in the face. That'd hurt for days afterward, and he wasn't about to try and knock out Kamina just for the sake of ending his shenanigans a few seconds earlier. Besides, an unconscious Kamina was a boring Kamina.

Nia was not responsible for the birthday cake. That meant it was edible to people other than Kamina and Simon, who would likely eat anything without complaint.

She did not drink the strange brews presented to those in attendance, for she was scolded very harshly as a child that she was never to drink soda or other sugar-heavy drinks. They served no useful purpose, she'd been told, and only caused harm to the body. Milk and water were the only things she was allowed, with juice as a special treat (for it also was reported to be rather sugar-heavy, even if the sugar was natural). While she wasn't exactly sure what this new liquid was, she knew that it was not milk nor water, nor did it smell like any fruit she was familiar with. So she did not touch it.

The girl cheerfully bobbed in and out of the crowds, and wherever she went, discarded cups, napkins, and used-up plates seemed to disappear. She'd wanted to do something for the party, but clean-up seemed to be all she was truly good at. So that's what she did, and she did it ( ... )

Kamina could see a familiar head of blond curls weaving back and forth through the crowds which could only make him wonder just what Nia was up to. He had to admit she was weird, well...a different breed of weird from what he was at least, but she always meant well.

"Oi, Nia!" he called to her as he made his way through the sea of people. 'What the hell are ya doin, dun look like no dance I've ever seen!"

"Oh?" Nia perked, turning her head to seek out the one who had called her name. As if there were any doubt. Upon seeing Kamina making his way toward the petite girl, she beamed sunnily at him. "Oh no, cousin, this is not a dance at all!" She knew how to dance, but the dances she'd been taught were from eras long-since past. She was quite good at the foxtrot if she did say so herself, but the music was hardly the correct rhythm for such. She lacked a partner, besides.

But back to the point at hand! She plucked up another paper cup, neatly stacking it with the others she'd collected. "I am merely attempting to clean where I can. I had meant to do so once the party had completed, but I was just informed that it may go on for much longer than I am able to keep myself awake. So I wish to assist for as long as I am able," she beamed.

Didn't she normally sleep on the couch? Just where was she planning to sleep, anyway?

Kamina couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow at Nia. who the hell cleaned up during a party? It was like vacuming a carpet in the middle of a sand storm, or something along those lines.

"Aah dun worry bout it, we'll worry bout the cleanin' stuff after we're done partyin'!" he insisted. Sure she did most of the house work, but why worry about that when you could be having fun?

Not having Kittan around to give her a ride, Yotsuba had to walk to the party.

However, despite being a little worn out she still made it on time, and joined in the cheering after the toast and Simon making his speech.

She wasn't sure what the drink was she had just consumed, but she sure liked it.

She made sure to approach Simon and wish him a happy birthday quickly, then took to being a little pest around the various crowds of people.

Simon heard someone wish him a happy birthday in a voice that somehow penetrated the sound of other nearby people wishing him a happy birthday. He looked around, but whoever it was had already scurried off somewhere. He shrugged and went back to thanking the other well-wishers.
