Johnny found himself waiting a only a few minutes longer than he had planned, when he had taken note of a figure make his way into the coffee shop. It wasn't often he ever came up to the upper part of town, but as of late, he hung around. Hiding in the shadows and doing his best to stay out of sight.
His garb was still similar to what Duo might've seen the day he was first spotted back in Claribourn. The only slight difference was a slightly different vest underneath his coat. After all, if he was to lurk around this area of town, he had to at least look somewhat presentable.
Inside he walked, hands in his pockets. "Sounds rather fancy."
Duo looked up a smile on his face. "Sounds fancier than it really is." He fished out the payment from his pocket, counting out his cash. "Did you want anything overpriced and caffeinated?" He chuckled before taking a spot leaning against the counter, just covering up the stale, terribly expensive coffee crumb cake slices.
"So, been keeping a low profile lately. May still doesn't know you're here... if she did, she'd have beaten me up something fierce for not telling her earlier." He grinned, though it was obvious that he wasn't far from the truth. "Just happenstance, or calculated skulking?"
He chuckled and shook his head. "No, I'm quite fine actually..." Johnny adjusted his coat a bit and giving a small yawn.
Behind his shades, he lightly rolled his eyes. He knew very well how May was, so he knew Duo wasn't too far off with his statement. "I'm keeping a bit of a low profile... I don't want everyone to know I'm back just yet."
After all, it was still rather harsh of him to up and disappear.
"I guess I can understand... what with how you left, a lotta people would be asking a lotta questions, huh?" Duo waited patiently for his order, contemplating the older man. Johnny was a mystery wrapped in an enigma, then covered in a crunchy candy shell dipped in carob, and for the life of him, Duo could never get the man figured out in his own head.
Part of him was a little jealous of Johnny; still another part wanted to have nothing to do with even half the hardships Johnny had endured. However, either way, he felt like it would be good for him to try and get to know Johnny... not through May, or through their history with Solo, but as himself, a ladies' man and would-be Robin Hood. "So, what have you been killing time with lately?"
