Johnny was the next to arrive, positioning himself at the end of the table and as out of the way as possible. He gave a brief grin to Ky before starting to look over his menu.

"At this rate, none of us are going to be ready to go back next week."

He was just extremely grateful to be out of the house at this point and away from the very loud person he was sharing a home with. He would have killed Mista if he'd stayed any longer. A good 'breakfast' sounded perfect to him right now.

Karen sat next to Ky. Hopefully that Leviathan girl would sit next to her...

She excitedly flipped through the menu. "Vegan Blueberry Pancakes beat a healthy schedule any day of the week."

Johnny offered to sit last, to make sure everyone had made their own seating arrangement. He wasn't sure why he decided to tag along, as he wasn't really hungry, but it was always nice to sit and talk with potential friends.

When asked what he would like to eat, he simply made a statement of having a glass of water and nothing else. After all, water was free.

Under normal circumstances, Leviathan would have been first on the scene. It was only a 5-10 minute walk to Shari's from her house. But it had been late when the others made their plans to go, and Leviathan was already decked out in her pajamas. So with a sigh and a complaint that no one else in the house cared about, she pulled on a pair of jeans slashed at the knees and decked out with magic marker graffiti, a lace top, and a pleather zip-up vest. She left her knee-length hair looped up with an old, wrinkled, white ribbon, navy blue spikes sticking out of the long circle. It wasn't tidy, but she thought it looked good that way, and she didn't want to waste time styling it. She wanted pancakes ( ... )

He blinked, as a menu nudged his shoulder. This was a little different for him and he wasn't sure how to take it. It was the simple act of being nice that always took him by surprise, no matter how often he himself did it. He lofted a brow, but quickly tried to things around.

"Oh, no I'm quite fine. I appreciate the offer though~" A pleasant smile crossed his lips as he put his hands up to decline the menu.

"What? No, come on," Leviathan pressed, beginning to smile. "At least a milkshake or something. Seriously, it's fine." And if he declined again, she'd order for him. She could be painfully stubborn when she put her mind to it. Which was...often. Very often.

She glanced up at the server when they approached, jutting her thumb towards Johnny. "Could you put our ticket together?" Ha. No escape.

"No point in resisting this one, Johnny. She's going to buy for you whether you like it or not," Ky chuckled, taking a sip from the water and ordering a small caesar salad to start himself off. He'd move on to the main course later.

"So, Jojo, I haven't had much time to talk to you outside of class lately. How's life? And May Lee for that matter?"

Barely knowing these people, Karen looked backwards to the fish tank behind her. Her eyes locked in silent communion with something finned and rainbow colored. /Do you long for freedom too, fishie?/

When the waitress arrived, she ordered a short stack of the blueberry vegan pancakes and fished around in her pocket, hoping she'd brought enough.

The problem that was being held here was simple. Johnny was poor, and thus never really had an opportunity to go out to eat. So this was very new to him, and he did his best to not show it. Usually, when he went out, it was to simply grab something cheap like a coffee. The rare occasions when he did spend more than three dollars were those few times he got lucky and managed to snag cash from the unsuspecting eye.

He quickly looked at Leviathan when she had nudged the menu to him, and took a double take when she claimed their checks were together. He bit his lower lip, not at all wanting to take advantage of free food, but at the same time trying not to make himself look greedy.

He looked to the waitress and finally ordered himself a small side salad. Salads were cheap, looked filling, and healthy for a person! Healthy for those who ate regular meals, in Johnny's case he'd simply be hungry later.

Leviathan flashed a smile at Ky. He knew her too well, it seemed! She nodded in acknowledgment, then leaned back with her water glass, legs crossed, waiting for Johnny's decision.

A side salad? That was it? Well, at least it was relatively healthy, but she raaaaaaaaised her eyebrows at him nonetheless. "Hm. You're too modest," she chuckled, and turned to glance at the others. That girl sure was being quiet.
