Who: Ash and Nina When: Wednesday after school Where: The school parking lot, the Blanctorche house What: Ash feels the need to spend time with a friend Complete!
Nina exited the building wearing her usual air of arrogance and pompous jackassery...at least until she was certain she was in the clear. Then, her look turned more serious and almost melancholy as she approached Ash, attempting to force a smile. "Hey..." she greeted him, her shoulder slumping a bit. It was obvious she had a lot on her mind...
"Hello, dear." Ash's voice didn't seem to have the light musical quality it normally did when entertaining guests. He had no reason to be "the picture of high-class manners" with her. He stood up, handing her a skullcap-style helmet in a matching blue to the vehicle. He gave her a look of honest sympathy. "You look... tired."
Nina took the helmet with a light smile, moving in to take from her long time friend a much needed hug. After another sigh, she broke and placed the helmet on herself snuggly, hoping onto the passenger tier of the small vehicle. "I suppose...I suppose you could say I am..." she said enigmatically. The truth was, her mind and emotions were clouded. Heavily. Perhaps for the first time since the tragedy that ripped her from her former comfortable life.
Smiling, he wrapped his friend in his arms, stroking her shoulders comfortingly. When she broke the hug, he gave her shoulders a squeeze and nodded. "Well then, let's see what we can do to help that, oui?" With that, he re-buckled his own helmet and started the engine. With a high-pitched but soft whine, they made their way out of the school parking lot and onto the road.
The wind wasn't too bad. Still, Ash was very glad that he had brought his deck coat that day, just as he was glad Nina had dressed warmly as well. Though the trip was short, and the vespa didn't go fast enough for wind to be an issue, the openness of the vehicle made it slightly more susceptible to the elements than most.
Ash giggled with delight at Nina's actions. "Dear, if you'd like, I can make us an actual meal." He stood, removing his coat and hanging it up as he walked to the kitchen. "We have some pasta if you'd like. M'sieur Sanji taught us a wonderful linguine recipe yesterday... I believe we even have the clams for it." He leaned back towards the table. "My lady, would you do me the honor of joining me for dinner this evening?"
Nina blushed slightly, "Oh you snake tongued fiend you...of COURSE I would!" she said, her stomach growling rather openly now, causing her to lower her head a bit. "So yeah...I've been skipping meals again...I know, I know, it's not healthy. But at the very least I got to share Ikkaku's lunch today."
"Tsk tsk, Nina. You know that intentional starvation will make you age faster than doing heroin while breathing in the air in Los Angeles..." Ash clicked his tongue playfully as he stepped into the closet-sized cooler, spying a bag of fresh clams that he was sure served some other purpose. He would deal with being yelled at later. Grabbing both the clams and a container of shredded Parmesan, he stepped back out, spreading things on the counter as he searched for an apron.
"Salmon and some sort of sushi I couldn't quite identify. Either way it was delicious. His mother is a great cook," Nina nodded with a smile. "And don't worry, Ash. I'm not starving myself. I just forget to eat when I'm so consumed by my own thoughts..."
