I agree, it's just that I have... double standards, I guess :-p When I'm on the receiving end, I enjoy detailed feedback, of course, but any comment makes me happy anyway. But as a reader, it is indeed frustrating. I probably need to relax and take it a bit less to heart ;)
I totally get you. Sometimes it feels like the quiz at the end of the story that i can't answer properly. and when I really really want to give something good back, it's even worse bc it takes part of the enjoyment of the story away when I'm left feeling pressured to instantly discet what I LIKED ABOUT IT BEFORE i can digest it. But if i WAIT, THERE'S NO CHANCE i;LL GET BACK AND LEAVE THE fb the story deserved.sigh. (sorry re typing)

Ooh, no way I leave anything but a basic comment right after reading a story. I need a while to process. So yes, I definitely share the need for digestion time ;)

At least, I don't have that problem since I don't read so many fics and I either remember them or bookmark them to come back later. It's really the fact that I suck - always have sucked - at analyzing why I like something. Then there's the interpretation issue: what if I don't properly get what the author meant? *gasps* And the dreaded 'important stuff' issue: what if I don't pay enough attention to aspects the author especially cares about? *gasps again*
Yes, I overthink, overinvest and take my fun too seriously. I'm even aware how ridiculous it is *facepalm*
