"Fortuitous Meeting" posted to Realms of Fantasy website

Feb 23, 2011 17:10

So I just returned from my 20-hour trip back to Brazil, exhausted, and I'm fighting (and losing) against a huge pile of e-mail which arrived during that period.

But I suppose one announcement can't wait: my Nebula-Finalist Novelette (still can't believe I can say that!) "The Fortutious Meeting of Gerard van Oost and Olduara" has been posted in its Read more... )

fortuitous meeting, eamb, realms of fantasy, nebulas, writing, gerard van oost and oludara, thankful

Yeah, I might have contributed to that pile with a number of Nebula-related emails. ;)

I am reading and loving it!! I haven't finished yet and must go make dinner, but it's fantastic.

I have to ask. I have to. Did you get the idea for how Oludara slew that first dragon from Le Petit Prince? I have the image of the sated serpent with an elephant in his belly in my head.

Nope, I'm ashamed to say I haven't read that book. To be honest, I don't remember the eating idea. What came first was the concept of two different "dragons" to link the worlds together. I've always been fascinated about how dragons / giant serpents appear in almost every ancient cosmology.

Nothing to be ashamed of!

Can't wait to finish the story. Love the details. You must have done oceans of research!

When you're finished reading, stop by the "World" section at eamb.org and you'll see for yourself. :)
