This year, we went to Sirius Rising at Brushwoodinstead of Starwood, which was held earlier this year, and at Wisteria in Ohio again, or Summerfest, which is this week. Sirius has been around for a while, but this is the first time we went to that particular festival. Although we have been to the Sirius Saturday bonfire a time or two before ( Read more... )

We acquired Karen through proximity camping! I think she's the only one that came to the community that way. So far!

I'd love to go to a festival. Sadly I would have to go alone since I don't know anyone else to go with. I went to Elvenquest alone 10 years ago, and it was ok, but going by myself was just not very fun at all. There are some really cool people at these events but I am not the sort of person to randomly walk around and meet new people by myself.

One of our crew drove in from Chicago and that took something like seven or eight hours. Not a horrible drive for a week. It takes us about six. If you're interested and can get the time off next summer, you'd be welcome to join us! Knowing at least one person there could be something of a start.

Also, even if you're not the sort to randomly meet new people, there are plenty of people around who are, and even if you're not out there meeting, you are very likely to get met!

Pagan Spirit Gathering has moved location a number of times, but I think recent locations are pretty close to you. It's run by Circle Sanctuary though they don't host, probably because there's way more people at PSG than there's room for at Circle. I've never been to PSG myself, but I know a number of people who have and say it's pretty awesome.

Yeah this year PSG had CABINS for rent! No camping! I started going to Circle in 1988 and I have wanted to go.

I like the camping part, though! But yeah, I can see the advantages of cabins.

The place where we go has a pool house with pool, communal showers and hot tub. I'm a pool-hot tub-pool type, rather than the hot tub-pool-hot tub order that some friends of mine prefer. Especially on a hot day, the pool is marvelous!
