Chloe sat on the bed in her motel room in Nowheresville, Nebraska (literally--she didn't have a clue what town she was even in) and picked up her cell phone, listening to the newest voicemail, from her friend Sarah Blake. A smile tugged at her lips and she deleted the voicemail and dialed her friend's number, waiting for her to pick up.

When she heard the familiar "hello" on the other end of the line, Chloe smiled. "Hey. Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner."

"Yeah, everything's okay. I'm actually someplace in Nebraska." She paused. "I uh...I got fired from the Daily Planet. Lex Luthor bought it out. It's why I left." She drew in a breath and let it out slowly. "How are you?"
