One thing that angryblackwoman does not note is that these comments have an even worse problem - that the fantasy that these colour-blind seekers strive for renders the "coloured" invisible - devaluing their actual bodies, experiences and their versions of utopia. Many if not most of the blacks I have talked to, no more want the blindness than they want discrimination. I don't know the roots of the colour-bling theory of utopia but today it appears to be the white solution to the black "problem." As such it still seems to have discrimation as its underlying basis - whites can/ will provide the solution on our terms.
