No one's giving me a hard time at all, it's just the same revolving differences of opinion that have been revolving since before I watched the show, but that's the beauty of being unknown in a fandom, I can say whatever I want and 5-ish people will see it and most of them won't care at all.

I used to have this whole Sam=Buffy, Dean=nobody at all thing... then Mystery Spot happened and it all went Xander, Willow:Dean, Sam on me. As soon as I get my thoughts organized I'll jot it down.

Though I'm very interested to know your Dean=Buffy, Sam=Dawn.

It's pretty simple:

Dean = Self-sacrificing demon and vampire killing older sibling, willing to die so that younger sibling (who is the key to the end/preservation of the world) may live. Wears awesome boots and leather jackets.

Sam = younger sibling who is the key to the end/preservation of the world. Wants attention and likes to hang out around musty old books (and lesbian witches). Is constantly being saved by older sibling and only recently stopped being used as bait.

Mine is more along the lines of:

Xander!Dean: Uses humor and sarcasm to deflect and take the attention off himself. Always throwing himself into the fray, even when he's ill prepared, in order to try to protect others. Fighting the good fight without any special gifts, but because those he cares about are embroiled in it. Sometimes out of his depth but full of skills and stratagems and raw fighting skill acquired over years of training.

Willow!Sam: Bookish, heavy into research and kind of awkward, but sweet. Uber-brainy. But as the seasons progressed the controlling nature and underlying power come to the fore. And as we saw with Willow once she lost the most important thing (Tara) she stopped caring about anything other than her pain and getting Tara back, she shut down, much in the way that Sam did in Mystery Spot when he lost his lesbian lover brother.

Okay, I am so glad that you're going there because I'm totally over fandom and their weird and aggressive attack of the show. I just. Don't. Get. It. ARGH! Hee, I got all angry about this last night when reading a few posts and then thought I'd let it go, but nope, there's the annoyance again! It's so weird to me because fandom views usually don't upset or piss me off, I don't typically care how others are viewing my shows, but for whatever reason (maybe the longevity and rehash of the same arguments OVER and OVER and OVER again?) it's really hitting my bitch button.

Peyton used to REALLY annoy me. Especially when she was getting in the way of the fated Brucas romance. But I guess this season they tricked me into shipping the two? Weird! Bring on the smackdown, P. Sawyer!
