[ There's a pause, and the sound of boots scuffing the pavement is heard as she walks. ]Serah, are

[ Your worry worries her, but she supposes that's to be expected (even if she would well want to avoid it, anyway). ]

I'm fine, Serah. [ 'cept not with a gunshot wound to her shoulder. ] I'm on my way to the inn.

As for what's happening... I'll find out soon. [ Which means she's going to work to get that information; which means Lightning might not even stop to rest after this. Gotta love that soldier stamina (or stubbornness). ]

... [ Blinks. This is Lightning, completely having those last few words go in one ear and out the other. ]

But you're all right yourself? As well as Fang? [ She could say she didn't expect Serah to come in at all - so animated now, too - so Lightning couldn't have just dropped her enlistment so abruptly. Which seems like a lame excuse on one aspect. On another, Lightning can perfectly justify her actions in wanting to make the place safe for Serah. Yeah. ]

[ There's a slight pause. ] Nothing so serious.

( voice. )

( there's a pause on his end too, mostly because he's wondering just what 'nothing so serious' would mean to her. she could be missing an arm for all he knew... ) Ah, is it something you'd like me to heal? Or are you good on your own?

( voice. )
