I just realized that the ACT is on Saturday.

My mom's boyfriend left this morning for a few months. He's going on some random motorcycle trip to Central America, I guess, and she's really sad. Fortunately, she has me to give her an awkward hug and not say anything helpful or comforting.

So it turns out that I'm a high school English teacher who taught a ZAP the ACT course last year; I know, I amaze myself sometimes. (lol)

Rules:
(1) Always guess, wrong answers do not count against you, but unanswered questions do hurt you. There is less than a minute per question in all sections, you probably will not finish on time. Keep that in mind.
(2) The ACT is set up on a 50/50 system. One answer is OBVIOUSLY wrong, then one is mostly wrong and then the other is a trick and one is right. If you're stumped, eliminate what you can, then guess.
(3) In the reading passages, start with the hardest portion first.
(4) The science portion is super easy. They're all trick questions because they know that you're mentally fatigued and won't see the fact that the graph is skewed, etc. So look hard at numbers and read your graphs carefully.
(5) Good luck on the math portion, because, hell, I teach English. Sorry!

Thanks so much, it definitely helps! This is kind of stuff that's the most useful. I mean, you can only hear "read the question thoroughly" and "eat a good breakfast" so many times before you want to punch someone.

Yeah, for the math, I may have to resort to that age-old fall back: eeny, meeny, miny, moe.

Ugh, that sucks. I'm doing the writing too. It's supposed to be pretty easy, basically just an opinion question ... It's the math I'm the most worried about. How'd you do the first time?
