I smell smoke. Granted, it is very nice barbeque weather and everything but I am still worried that some part of my house I can't find is on fire. I guess I'll find out soon enough ( Read more... )

Looks like a good investment, especially if it prevents or decreases any future angsting/flailing/tears.

I was reading through your journal and I just wanted to say you seem like a pretty good writer and the one about Luna was my favourite. I've found myself doing the same thing, writing letters, and even using a line or phrase that I've written in conversation just because I particularly liked the way it sounded.

It smelled like smoke in the parking lot of Macy's the other day too.

"I got another letter from Hollins University, which sounds very nice except that it's an all girls school."

I used to get letters (2 a month) about a place called Belmont Abbey College. Notice I don't say FROM. They were letters from random places, like Krispie Kreme Donuts, telling me about the college and what an amazing place it was.

My favorite letter about them was from an alumni who said in her letter "Belmont Abbey taught me not only WHAT to think, but HOW to think!"

At least Hollins sounds nice =)

That's pretty creepy. Like, a lot. Out of curiosity, I googled Belmont Abbey and it is a "Liberal Arts Catholic college ... steeped in Benedictine tradition!" Sounds like a blast.

Under alumni it says "Humpy Wheeler, President of Lowes Motor Speedway, Inc." and pictures of the alumni's kids wearing "Got monks?" t-shirts. I just be very immature, but Humpy? Really? Plus, half the website is about how to donate to the college. The whole thing seems weird.

Yeah, Hollins seems nice, it's known for its creative writing program, apparently.
