Imperial City -> First Ward

My forum search-fu has failed me. I'm wring some CoX fanfics and I wanted to know something. Is there is any verification that the road leading out of Imperial City is the same as the one leading into First Ward? From what I can see on the maps the road seems to be a straight shot, but I haven't been able to pick out enough landmarks to verify it

If I recall correctly, to get to First Ward from Imperial, you go to Underground Imperial first. There should be a door marked First Ward on your map once you're in the Underground. The door itself will usually be surrounded by Carnival of Light NPCs.

Right, that's how you do it in game, but the question is whether "overland" would follow the same road if it weren't for the sonic barriers.

First Ward, IIRC, is supposed to be quite a ways from Praetoria City. I think one of the devs likened it to the Paragon City/Croatoa combo on Primal Earth when they were first talking about it.

... isn't Praetoria City in Rhode Island ... and First Ward in / near the remnants of New Orleans?

I've been curious about that. Paragon City is supposed to be in Rhode Island, but I'm not sure if Praetoria City takes up the same geographical spave.

It's not. mirror-Paragon was Shroud City, and it's a crater now. (Check Tyrant's full bio on the GR site.)

So, wonder what that means for Mot if he was buried under Shroud? :)
