In particular, I love ALL OF THE SIRENS, (except bottom right as I don't know him) Emma Thompson as Laertes, John Simm as Calypso (get us with our Greek vs Latin spellings) and JULIE WALTERS AS NESTOR IS EFFING PERFECT.

Is it Melanthius who gets his nose and ears cut off, plus his man bits pulled off (I *swear* it's pulled not cut, as I remember going o.0!!!) by a rageful Odyseus? If so, your actress probably won't relish being part of this project for long... :)

Oh man, the palace is suddenly a lesbian dream of crazy hot suitors! :D

Bottom right Siren is most famous for starring in Kick-Ass, but he also plays young John Lennon in Nowhere Boy, and is generally lovely. Julie-Walters!Nestor was one of those characters where, as soon as I thought of her, I knew that was it. Same with John Simm. I know I'd stay on a Greek island with him for seven years if he asked me to ;)

Indeed, Melanthius has a grisly end in store for him... I actually rather like that actress -- I could've sadistically cast someone I don't like (ooh, Keira Knightley would've fit the bill there) but I went for her because I think she'd play the verbally-abusing-Odysseus bit well. She's most famous for being on EastEnders, where people verbally abuse each other quite regularly ( ... )

Well, I must admit to not being overly versed in the source material, but I feel that your casting of Kirke and the Sirens works very well.

Why thank you! That picture of Ben Barnes looks like one of those creepyshow tumblr graphics, his eyes are all dark and, well, witchy :)

When I did this I'd just seen Lacey T as Lia, so when I had to think of someone to give Odysseus guidance which comes from a complicated place in terms of uncertain morality, guess who came to mind?

I admit when I first saw Lia I was kind of going 'was Megan Prescott NOT available' but she won me by the end of the episode. Not that Megan Prescott wouldn't have also been fantastic but she just did it wonderfully. Yeah, perfect choice.
