The only election coverage I plan to watch will be on Comedy Central. Stewart/Colbert! If I honestly thought those guys would accept it, I'd be all for the write-in campaigns that I've heard for them.

I don't think Obama's a bad guy... I'll be voting for him, but I don't really want to because I don't care for a lot of his policies. If McCain hadn't chosen Palin, I'd have been happy to throw my vote into the lot for the Third Parties again. Palin makes my skin crawl enough with her views that I can't do it and I have to vote for the "lesser evil".

The one thing that I wonder about in all of this: In 2 years, when Obama's track record for getting things through Congress is no better than any previous president, what will his more fervent supporters think or do? What if "change" doesn't really happen? I honestly doubt that if Obama wins, he will get all that much changed other than being a far better sounding public speaker than what we've had recently.

I couldn't disagree more. I have been a supporter of Obama since the primaries precisely because I do think he can win. He has brought states into play that Hillary never could have. I think the "shadow voters" you're referring to certainly exist. But I don't think they exist in nearly the kind of numbers that would be needed to overcome the majority that Obama has built. And I can tell you from personal experience, having gone door-to-door for Obama for the last two weekends, that for every white-supremacist who might come out of the woodwork, there are two minorities, many of them newly naturalized citizens, who will also vote for the first time ever.

I won't deny the kernel of doubt lingering under the surface - that deeply held insecurity of Democrats and Cubs fans alike that whispers in your ear and tells you that all hope is false. But I firmly believe that this year is different. Hide under your bed if you will. Those who do not hope are never disappointed. But it's a sad way to live.

OK I wont get long winded ;) but what I will say is this. Will Obama win not likely but with that attitude why would anyone vote for him at all. And I think that is what the Republicans are hoping for.

I will be rooting for the Underdog, because in my Heart of Hearts I do believe Obama can win, if the Election is played "Fairly" whats more is I do not think the country can take 4 more years of "bushism"

and as far as What if "change" doesn't really happen? I honestly doubt that if Obama wins, he will get all that much changed other than being a far better sounding public speaker than what we've had recently. I'd like to coin a phrase from the Republicans "Give it time.. just give him time"

Put it to you this way. He has 4 years to undo what was taken 8 years. and what is the worse that could happen??? I think most of all people (Non people of color) who are liberal are afraid of a black man being in charge of the country and this would force them to vote McCain, and that would be unfortunate. all IMHO.
