That time of year again

So, once again, it doesn't look like I'm going have time to making a full Digiween picture this year (past efforts are here, here, here, and here). But, being in a costume-y mood, I thought I would at least post some doodles of Panique en Atlantique-style DigiDestined as bellhops. Oddly enough, I never considered these as being Halloween costume ( Read more... )

Poor Old Reliable, it's not easy putting up with everyone else's shenanigans <3. As for the girls, I was originally thinking they would be maids, but the more I think about it, Mimi should probably be the concierge/front desk clerk because she's the most skilled at handling people, little social butterfly that she is. It does beg the question though, who *are* the guests at this hotel (omg what if it's a hotel for digimon... I might have to mull that one over) :D

Hehehe, that style is really cute! I love your doodles! Are you planning on coloring them? I like Izzy in the bottom left of the first page soo much. XD

So I clicked on your link and I saw a cheetah-type creature with a very long tail. I SWEAR that guy was in some kind of 90s cartoon; I even had him as a fast food toy. Am I insane, or can you shed some light? Same character, or just a very strange coincidence(/imitation)?

I wasn't planning on coloring these specific sketches, but I'll probably end up doing a cleaned up and colored *something* with these guys as my next big project (whenever I have time for that ^^;)

And I can answer that question (because I had the same vague recollection)! He's called the Marsupilami, and he was created by Franquin in the 50s as part of the Spirou universe (and Franquin kept the rights to the character after he left Spirou and eventually set up an independent series with him, which is still ongoing, I guess). And then somehow Disney cut a deal in the 90s to make a cartoon that had absolutely nothing to do with any of the original comics. Weird, huh?
