I've finally got my act together enough to finally get my boiler and heating system installed. It's on order and everything will be going in next Monday. In order to clear up room in my kitchen, instead of putting the boiler in the Kitchen as it is currently, I wanted the boiler placed in the loft, out of the way. Of course that means I have to ( Read more... )

I banged my side and shin on the way down. I have a rib wall injury, which is ironic considering it happened when my side hit the floor not the wall! Got a nice big scrape down my left hand side where I caught the broken edge of the floor board. Goes from my waist to my arm pit, and keeps pumping out all this brown gunk. Saw the nurse yesterday and she bandaged me up and did their obs, no broken bones or anything too serious. Though my right wrist and ankle that I think I half landed on aches permanently, and the nurse tells me I have a lower than normal heart rate and a higher than normal blood pressure.

As for cost, I got a family friend in yesterday to sort it, they've asked for £100 for materials, I'm not sure how much more it's going to cost yet. I'm going to try and claim it on home insurance, as soon as I find out who I have buildings insurance with. Though I'm not sure if I have buildings insurance or if my mortgage provider does, which might mean I can't claim it...

Oh my goodness! you really got banged up!!! Take care of yourself and heal quickly. I'll send Nurse Mai along shortly to make you feel all better. :P

I hope it can be fixed at little expensive and I do hope you have insurance to cover it! No more clamboring around on floors that aren't floors! Be careful!

I'm not sure if I can claim on any insurance now. I remember not being able to afford the buildings insurance so only got contents, it'll be insured by my mortgage provider, but I don't know if I can claim on that or who to ask.

Anyway, I now feel like I'm getting a cold or something, and it's going to cost me a grand to get everything sorted all told. lovely.

Yikes, sounds painful. Hope you get better soon.

And if it helps, a professional builder did exactly the same thing at my parents house, right down to falling into the kitchen.
