Friends! Even if it got sort of bad towards the end, idc. I love that show.

*agrees* It had its rough patches, but overall it was pretty damn good.

The book I was reading totally bashed Friends, and then listed off "more intelligent" shows like Everybody Loves Raymond and I made lots of WTF faces.

Haha, I agree that Friends got a lot worse as it went on, but I was never much of an Everybody Loves Raymond fan. ;)

I've seen bits of a few episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond, and...didn't think it was funny or original at all (not as bad as Seinfeld though, which I hate with a PASSION). Friends had some meh seasons near the end, but the last season ended on a high note.

I had the same problem with my time thing! I had to fix it here.

Yeah, I haven't seen a ton of Everybody Loves Raymond, but from what I've seen, I really don't understand why it's so popular (I do however love Seinfeld, haha). Friends definitely had some ups and downs, but when it was good, it was pretty awesome.

Yay, that fixed it! Thank you!!

You don't have an option "neither" :P

But between the two I'd definitely go with Friends.

Haha, it doesn't matter if you like them or not, I just want people to compare them. I was reading this book that claimed that Everybody Loves Raymond was far superior and more intelligent than Friends, which I was really confused by. ;)

ELR... I never found it funny, tbh. Friends had its bad moments, but it was still entertaining. ELR never was entertaining to begin with.

Agreed. I went through phases of loving and hating Friends, but looking back, even when it was bad it was still okay at least. I never liked Everybody Loves Raymond.

I'M NOT GOING TO LIE, CHOOSING EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND OVER FRIENDS WOULD MAKE ME GO o.O

Like...Everybody Loves Raymond is exactly the same as at least five other shows I can name off the top of my head. It completely plays to stereotypes, the women stay home with the kids and the men like sports and chug beer. Hah. Hah. So funny. I've been forced to watch it way too many times.

I KNOW, RIGHT?

This book I had to read about pop language spent a few pages explaining why Friends is crappy and then goes on to say, "but then, dumb lines can add up to smart marketing. While there have been notable exceptions--popular shows with intelligent humor, like Seinfeld, Bernie Mac, The Simpsons, Everybody Loves Raymond..." at which point I went WHUT? THIS AUTHOR IS CRAZY AND I NO LONGER VALUE HER OPINIONS.
