My own personal brand of heroin

Last night I went and saw Twilight with murgatrude and her dad (yes, it's my 3rd time seeing it, shut up) which was lots of fun in and of itself, but you know what the best part was? There was a preview for Watchmen before the movie! I hadn't seen one on the big screen before, and it was SO AWESOME. murgatrude and I may have flipped out just a little bit. Her dad was ( Read more... )

I wasn't wowed by Dollhouse, but am holding out hope it gets awesomer. And I loved seeing the mutant enemy logo so much.

Frank! looking... not faily at all with his facial hair! IT'S A MIXED UP MUDDLED UP SHOOK UP WORLD.

I wasn't super wowed either, but I have faith that it will hook me in. I actually clapped at the logo, haha.

Right? I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS MADNESS IS, BUT I APPROVE.

Now that the facial hair has gotten its act together and is making an EFFORT to do something with itself, I can approve! Which is good, I did not like not-approving of Frank's face. Even a little bit.

Yes! I'm quite happy that it's decided to stop being patchy and pornstache-y. \o/ Me, neither. It made me sadface a lot.

I've been meaning to make a post about Dollhouse...but haven't got around to it yet. I'm so excited that there's a Jossverse show on TV again!! I didn't watch it on TV since I had to watch it online so I MISSED THE MUTANT ENEMY GRR ARGH LOGO! That part was cut out. Fail. D:
HOWEVER, same I wasn't blown away either but you're right about how it has lots of potential & it made me be really interested in the characters and the world and I'm totally satisfied with that. I think the reason why it wasn't as amazing as it could be was Joss scrapped the original pilot because of the network & he had to change a bunch of stuff etc. I'm looking forward to the trademark Joss humour in later eps & anyway he said the first few eps were ALL pilot episodes. I can't help comparing it to his other shows you know? And Dollhouse does seem rather different...which isn't a bad thing, just different. IDK I shall see.

I approve of the Frank facial hair in that pic!

Yay for no class. :D

Oh noez! They totally should've left the logo in. Fail indeed.

Yes! I'm very much excited about the show, even if I wasn't completely in love with the first episode (and really, how often do you fall totally in love with a pilot?). I'm so curious now what the original version of the pilot was like. And you're right that it's different from his other shows, which totally isn't bad, but it does throw me off a little bit. I trust that his style will show through more as it goes on, though. And the world he's set up is very intriguing. :)

Me, too! Nice to know he can do facial hair well!

No class is definitely of the good.

I went to see The Dark Knight again in IMAX a few weeks ago and before it they had a Watchmen preview WHICH WAS AWESOME (I finished the book yesterday). Then I went to go see a movie last week and they had a different Watchmen preview which was ALSO AWESOME. I'm excited! I think I'm going to need to see the movie in IMAX or at the Cinerama as it will be a nerdfest and epic.

I didn't expect to be blown away by Dollhouse as pilots (even for amazing shows like Buffy/Angel, etc) are almost never very good and I've repeatedly read that things started to gel for them after a few episodes. I'm really really intrigued and deeply disturbed by the concept and think Joss is pretty ballsy for taking something like that on. I think it'll end up being really good but I'm scared that it'll go the way of Firefly.

!!! Giant Watchmen preview would be SO AWESOME (and yay for finishing the book!). I think I wanna see it at IMAX, too...or got to a midnight release or something. Epic nerdfests are always a good time.

This is true--there are very few pilots that are amazing. I'm definitely satisfied with this one, even if I didn't fall in love right away. The concept is definitely intriguing, and I think there are a lot of interesting places to go from this set up. I'm really worried about it being canceled, too. :/ Hopefully because this show is a bit different than Joss' usual style (it's a little sleeker it seems) it can appeal to both the mainstream & cult TV watchers, even when being aired in the death slot. *crosses fingers*

lol I've seen Twilight twice now and I understand why I saw it once, because my friend is into the books but a second time I suggested it to the same friend haha ( ... )

Haha! Yeah, I'm not into the books, and yet I really enjoy that movie for some reason. *shame* ;)

It looks so awesome on the big screen!

It is a really interesting concept! I'm excited to see where it goes from here - I think there are a lot of routes he could take, so it'll be neat to have some surprises. I hope it lasts long enough to explore those routes. :/

Oh yeah, Frank is still Frank no matter the facial hair, but it's nice that it's less faily now. ;)

Yup! :D Oh those boys and their dogs.
