If Steph would like to come, she certainly may jump in!]Cissie was having a pretty great day. It was surprisingly warm and sunny, with a bit of a breeze. Not too much of a breeze to make the shooting difficult, but just enough to make aiming interesting. The competition went well. She ( Read more... )

Bart had absolutely not been metaphorical about the punching. But since it was very rude to punch someone in the middle of a competition, he'd limited himself to random catcalls and jeers (and cheers and adulation for Cissie). He'd never been to an archery competition before, and it was sort of slow for him, but he amused himself by making fun of Tim and with the occasional run up to where Cissie was to do the pretend-boyfriend fawning thing.

And also the occasional run around the city. But just once or twice.

When Cissie came back over to the gear, Bart asked the obvious question: "Are you gonna give me your medal because I'm your boyfriend-for-the day? That's how it works, right?"

Cissie laughed and held the medal out for him. "Of course it is. It also means you get to carry all my gear," she told him with a sweet smile.

"Wait a second, if my arms are full how a I going to hit Kevin?" Bart was always on task. Except when he wasn't. Right now, though, he was on the punching-Kevin-task, and was biding his time until the opportunity arose. He hefted Cissie's gear like a good fake boyfriend. "Cassie took like five bajillion pictures. I'm going to Photoshop a donkey onto Kevin's body. I think it'll be fun."

"I can take them from you when the punching time comes," Kon jutted in. "Since I'm not allowed to break his face. Which is totally unfair. And Bart! Why would you make him look better with photoshop?"

It was a great day. The kind of day that is great because of its simplicity. Friends spending time together. Cheering. Laughing. Supporting each other. It was the kind of day that's reminded Cassie why they did what they did all the other days. Today they were more than just a team.

Cassie spent the meet taking pictures. She'd promised photographic proof of Tim in the fan club t-shirt but she snapped pictures of everyone and everything. It was a great day and Cassie wanted to document it.

"Smile, champion!" she called out to Cissie as she approached.

Kon was having a good time. They'd decided not to act all couple-y (triple-y)? When they were out with their friends. At least not yet. So really it was pretty normal. Kon cheered loudly for Cissie and played with his glasses and did normal people things like walking instead of floating. He grinned and flashed the thumbs up at Cissie as they went up to the podium. He also kept an eye out for this Kevin guy. He'd promised that Bart (as the fake-boyfriend) could do the punching, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to be all muscly an bristly at the guy.

Tim was there.

He was wearing the T-shirt, although he was fairly certainly it was not black. It appeared to be a dark navy blue, and he briefly considered mentioning if before he realized he didn't actually care.

Unused to being out in quite so much sunshine, he spent most of his time attempting to watch what was going on with Cissie through narrowed eyes..and sighing at Bart, who wouldn't stop making fun of him. He was happy she'd won, and he stood around quietly as his friends talked and took pictures. Somehow, he even managed to pretend like he didn't notice when Cassie snapped a picture of him in the shirt.

(This is not the Tim you're looking for! Shh!) mrsarcastic003 April 25 2009, 04:31:57 UTC
Kevin met with his own friends briefly following the competition, and then went to track Cissie down. He was... okay, maybe being a bit of a jerk, but part of him really did want to know where her new fanclub had come from.

"Hey," he said, giving a quick wave in greeting. He grinned at Cissie. "Nice job out there."

Tagging order, if it works? Cissie, Bart, Cassie, Kon, Tim, Kevin (aka not!Tim!) ;) cisskabob April 25 2009, 04:37:49 UTC
Cissie was laughing at Kon and Bart, and enjoying her time with her friends. It was really nice having them there.

And then Kevin came over, and Cissie regretted not shepherding everyone out as quickly as possible. But he looked like he was going to pull his 'charming people who don't know me' act, so she gave him a somewhat tight smile. "Hi Kevin. Thanks. You too."

Bart was just about to give a mini-speech on why he was actually flattered to be called Puck, when Kevin walked over. His demeanor instantly changed, and his previously genuine smile shifted to something more forced. "Kevin. Just the second place finisher I wanted to congratulate."

He stepped up next to Cissie and put his arm around her waist. Part to play! "Congrats on second place, man. You did a pretty good job. Not as good as our girl Cissie, of course. But I look better in gold anyway, you know?"

On one hand, Cassie really did think Kevin needed to be taken down a notch or four. On the other hand, Bart has been erratic lately. But this is not the time to be doubting, this is the time to be supporting (and prepared to step in to keep things calm as needed...as per usual it would be Bart and Kon knocking themselves over to make their mark and Cassie and Tim keeping their heads on straight. It was good dynamic. Well, except when people died. Um. Task at hand!).

Cassie simply positioned herself on the outskirts and raised her camera to capture whatever may take place.
