this is not the entry i intended to write

though today’s really trying, i’m doing a decent job of subverting its intentions of being crappy and bummerish. the ankle-length wool skirt i’m wearing is a great help, in that if i really put me mind to it, i can summon up the feeling of still being in bed. that was, of course, supposed to be “really put MY mind to it,” but i’m leavin’ it, ( Read more... )

True again, wise one, we may not have much to complain about but I do think we are allowed to feel blue once in a while for no reason at all. (Or in my case, reasons we don't want to admit to the world because they're too ordinary and embarrassing and cliched and all other kinds of things I don't want to be.)
Should is a bad, bad word. Although, not to make you add to your list, but you already know I think you should write more because it makes me feel less alone. But, fine, do it only if you want to.
I will say though that if there are things you want (vs. should) to do, there's always time.
Now I have to go smooch the guy who just came in the door.

Pfft, woman. You've got brains and beauty enough, you replicated! (speaking of which, don't we get pictures? can't you con anyone into scanning them up to a webby pagey thingy? *whine*)

Ah, lilies of the valley. I regret to have missed them this year. You know, whenever I feel this way, I try to do something small and concrete for someone who is:

1. dead.
2. hungry.
3. oppressed.
4. resigning the presidency on national television.
5. swimming through sewage to gather quarters flung by american tourists from the decks of opulent cruise ships.
6. watching adult men rape her virgin daughter because they’ve heard it’ll (it’ll it’ll) cure their hiv.
7. and then a lot of other awful scenarios.

It doesn't have to be a grand gesture, just whatever you have time for and in your own way. You'll be amazed how much better you feel.

But then you've probably already thought of that.

yeah, if only someone WAS resigning the presidency on national television, i'd be more than happy to be of service.
