I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it in this LJ before, but Black Feathers, and in particular "Telepaths Don't Need Safewords" and "The Game," made me completely rethink what I thought I knew about kink and what it was all about (and realize how far off I was, which is why BDSM had always been "interesting but not for me" up until then and another matter entirely thereafter). 15+ years later, it's still the first title I name when friends ask for exceptional erotica.
