Of Unfortunate Names, and Other Follies

I don't know if you've read Like a Treasure Found yet, or looked at the segment of my story exerpted at http://www.circlet.com/?p=3341 - but I suspect that a number of you might be asking the same question I asked myself when writing the first sex scene ( Read more... )

Thanks, Alan, I'm glad it worked for you. The author is generally the worst person to judge her/his own work, especially in cases like this. It took quite a few years of sorting out my own predilections - I figure I hover somewhere between 1 and 2 on the Kinsey scale - and exploring those realms isn't really worth fucking up the long term relationship I'm in, so my actual personal experience in such matters is...sparse.

On the other hand, my objective as a writer isn't to write convincingly about that which I know first hand; it's to write convincingly about that which I write about, whatever that is. My next erotica story to come out is in Circlet's Whispers in Darkness, wherein I aspire to write convincingly of an Eldritch Horror(tm). I haven't (yet) had the opportunity for such an adventure myself, but I hope I got it right. :)

I found it rather funny and indeed even charming; I admit I giggled, but there was something rather touching about the awkwardness. Also, I love programming in-jokes, even if I don't get most of them.

Thank you.

I love in-jokes in general, whatever the subject. A picture is worth a thousand words, they say; an in-joke is worth a thousand pictures, when it comes to revealing the mindset of a subculture.

:)

I haven't had time to read any of the other stories yet, I'm sad to say. I think I have 5 stories to do edits on tomorrow (today? gods, is it 3am already?). It's funny, almost no publications for almost a year, and then everything at once.

Soon. (a promise to myself; a reward for getting everything else done)
