Fair warning, all those who traipse beyond the LJ cut: there be spoilers like whoa for Serenity. Big, monstrous, drooling spoilers. Spoilers what go bump in the night. Spoilers that will spank you like the dirty girl you are, m'kay?

Excuse me while I flail excessively and whimper, )

please get out of my head with everything you had to say about this movie. it's like I typed this entry myself. please see my all too brief entry about the movie on Friday and my comment about Gina Torres.

Book was an Operative, yeah?

and I nearly wet my pants was glee when the reaver ships came out of that cloudy cloud there at the end.

*plays Twilight Zone music* We are of the same mind! Mwahaha...

Yeah, I always thought that Book must have had some kind of dark, Alliance related past. Remember that one episode where River was seeing glimpses into people's thoughts, and Book was really cruel and violent? I always thought that meant he had some kind of less than nice military background. But, yeah, now I'm leaning towards Operative.

At the end, I was like, "What are you doing, Mal?" before I realized what he was doing. That was so smart! Even though I knew the big spoilers, I was still shitting myself at the end, afraid that no one was going to make it out alive. It would be just like Joss to spring some huge surprise re-edit on everyone.

What's that place Inara was supposed to be at?

Companion training house. If I remember correctly.

Yeah..the dinosaurs was a great tribute..and Gina in that dress!!! ::fawn pants pants::

Kaylee's TIM was one of the damned funniest lines in the movie. :)

Well, I found it really interesting that the Companion training house was basically a Buddhist monastery. Plus, didn't someone in the series mention something about Inara having been set for almost like a religious spot within the order before leaving?

I want all of Zoe's clothes!

A friend of mine sent me The Official Visual Companion and while flipping through it tonight, I saw that it not only seems to have the entire script, but also loads of images and dialogue that didn't make it into the movie (i.e. Inara having a rather long conversation with a woman named Sheydra at the Companion House).

I want to look half as good as Zoe does in her clothes. I'll totally settle for that.

I FUCKEN LOVED THIS FUCKEN MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That being said, I didn't cry when Wash was killed cuz I was so shocked I couldn't breathe. I felt numb, like Zoe.

And Simon/Mal? Dear lord the sparks flew! *quiver*

The reavers were awesome, the whole space fight was stunning, and the reavers hitting the alliance ships was just orgasmically satisfying.

What was wonderful is that everything from the show was there. All the great relationships, the funny lines thrown in like an afterthought, and that they didn't make anything Bigger and Better. (Except maybe Zoe's constumes... hubba hubba! Lord God but I would turn Lesbo for her.)

I have to see it again. Because I was stunned like I had a blow to the head when I left the theatre. And I really haven't had a moment to think about it since (I got a new PUPPY!)

Let's not forget Simon in that tight, black jumpsuit in the first scene. *flails*

Or Jayne and his granades... Eeeeeeeee!!!!

Congrats on puppy Kaylee! My dumb dial-up won't load the pics in your last post. :(

Oh gosh, I so loved Zoe's new clothes! It seemed she only really had the one outfit in the show. But now... wow. I loved the pink shirt at the end. Who could have ever guessed that Zoe would wear pink?

I was kinda disappointed that we didn't see more of Vera, though. Except, of course, for that great, "Let's be bad guys," reveal. Rowr.. Jayne likes to have Vera strapped to him.

Was it just me, or did Serenity seem a bit more decked out in the film? That whole sitting room just off of Simon's med station - I don't remember that in the series.

I cried much harder for Wash when I saw it yesterday than I did that first time. I was paralyzed with shock and couldn't think after the first viewing.

I think what's really gotten to me is that idea that, if there is a movie two and three (and I think there will be - the theatre I was in was packed), there will be no Wash in those movies. That's what has me really saddened by the whole thing. I'm almost hoping that Joss doesn't try to introduce new characters to the crew. I don't want to see anyone sitting in Wash's place.

How can there be a movie without him? <---- so rhetorical.

It really is very very sad.

It's weird, I just don't get many slashy thoughts when watching these peeps, except for the Kaylee/Inara vibe. I just prefer the het on this one, I guess. Simon has such great eyes and OMG, the SWELL OF MAL'S ASS!! I was with hubby and my parents so I couldn't even *meep ( ... )

Honestly, while watching the series, I never got a slashy vibe either, other than the possibility of Kaylee wanting to know what Inara did with female clients. However, those scenes in the movie between Simon and Mal - yowza! I think it was how far up in Simon's face that Mal was getting. Hot, hot, hot. And I just love that Jayne is such a total perv about the girls.

I think that Serenity fans by and large need to get together for a fandom wake, because everyone seems really, really saddened by what happened to Wash. I think we need to think up a song for Wash, a la "The Man They Call Jayne." We could even have a chorus just for the plastic dinosaurs. :)
