A bit delayed but...

It traveled across the US and moved three or four times with me, but now, at long last, as a Christmas gift to myself, I picked up and read Midnight Never Come by Marie Brennan.  Having read  her earlier books (Warrior and Witch and Doppelganger I think, are the titles) I knew that it would be a committed read-until-it's-done-no-choice-in-the- ( Read more... )

The debut duology has been re-printed with the new titles Warrior and Witch, respectively.

I loved MNC and I'm not a historical fantasy buff by any stretch of the imagination.

You should poke around her website and search out some of the freely-available short fiction she has. It's also awesome-tastic.

Of course, of course. Now relocated to the bay area, methinks? I've even watched the Oscars at her house. I tried to write in her LJ name (swantower) but for some reason the webternetz then wanted to bold and underline everything and I had to give up.
