Not only did I not know some of these things about sound, but the idea of two-way communication with the most intelligent creatures on Earth aside from humans... wow. you're probably all over carl sagan's essay "the abstraction of beasts" but i thought i might mention it as relevant. only cos i read it recently and i get a gold star when i practice literacy. the essay was really good, and i forget what book of his it's from, but it was from a larger book...i found it in a norton anthology.
