As of this morning I am officially and FINALLY D-I-V-O-R-C-E-D!!! Awesome! And just in time for my favorite holiday AND my official one-year anniversary with the Italian. I even get my maiden name back hooray ( Read more... )

Gah, I didn't realize you WEREN'T official yet. Well, congrats! And I would totally put a "Just Divorced" sign on my car. *laughs*

Well we separated on March 7, 2006 and that was that until the state filed child support and custody for me April 1, 2007. The thing is neither of us could afford the divorce, but he's engaged so he said he would split it half and half with me if I got it done by myself without a lawyer since the hard stuff was all done...and in the process I found that I could file a "pauper's oath" since I have no income and I got to file for free and save the $300+. So yeah it's all done now. All I have to do is mail him is copy. And my bankruptcy finalizes Dec 29 so that's a hell of a lot of stressors gone by the end of the year. Well unless you count the slow process of changing my name on everything, but that stress is worth it.
