Is this the one that included a little necklace with a ballet shoes charm on it? I remember that series was all about girls doing... things. They had one about a girl who wanted to do figure skating (the necklace was a pair of skates) and one about a girl who wanted to ride horses (the necklace was a horse shoe). Might not be the same series, though.
I had to read it for school when I was a kid and we watched the movie at the end of the semester. I still have the book, now I'm I'm tempted to go read it. I didn't know there was a series. The only think I remember about it is that one of the girls used to fix things and all their names started with 'P'.
The movie I watched must be different from the one you watched, since Emma Watson was quite old in it. It's pretty recent. I want to read it again, too.
Heh, yeah, those two things were both in the movie, so I guess it's not completely off? That's a good sign.
Lol, that's how I had to explain to my mom what the movie was. "You remember the "shoe books" Meg Ryan talked about in You've Got Mail? Yeah, it's that."
Of all the Shoe books (Ballet, Dancing, Theatre, Circus, Family...and I think there are another few, but I only own four of them) the only one out of print (still and, sadly, forever) is Skating Shoes.

Aww, that is sad. But at least there are the others.
