So, I was rereading some of Eclipse, looking for a quote I wanted to use in a graphic, and oh my gad, it just gets worse every time! I mean, not worse in a "this book is crap!" kind of way, but worse in that Jacob just seems like more and more of a shitty little asshat, and I pick up on more and more things that show just how much pain Edward was

The maturity gap is just astounding. And I get it, Jacob is young and he -is- immature, but that doesn't make the way he treats her okay, and it certainly doesn't make it attractive. At all.
Gah.

Jake never stopped to consider what anyone else wanted, except himself. Of course he had willing accomplices in Billy and Charlie, who egged him on and both worked Bella over every chance they got.
*snuggle Edward* It riles me when people say he's an abusive boyfriend, controlling and manipulative and Jake is the better option. I'm all, hello, did you read the same books I did?

From what I'm hearing, it's still pretty E/B heavy. I mean, they're talking about Bella seeing Edward instead of just hearing him, and I have a feeling that if the movie went for a full hour without Edward in it, the fans would flip a shit...and I think the movie-makers know that, too. It's the E/B that everyone gets so invested in. With a few exceptions, but those aren't the mainstream.
Plus, I mean, think about how much they have to crunch in - some E/B time at the beginning, the birthday party, Edward leaving, Bella being all broken, the Port Angeles bit, the motorcycles, the werewolf explanation, cliff-diving, Volterra... I don't think there will be time for a whole lot of intensive J/B.

I do, too. I already think he played him as kind of a prick in Twilight, though, so good start. When he's like, "It's just a story, Bella," I'm like, "YOU CONDESCENDING LITTLE PRICK." I don't get it, either. His behavior was just...disgusting.
I hope they won't, either. I think the love triangle was -always- in Jacob's head...I mean, I get that it was some weird pre-imprinty thing where he was drawn to Bella because her ovary held his future mate or whatever (lol, so why isn't he drawn to Edward, too, huh?) and that's one thing, but I really think he kind of...manipulated her into thinking she loved him back.
Mmm, I want to reread the end part again, too. Edward convincing Bella he's real and that he loves her is one of my favorite moments, ever.

I love Edward more than is healthy for a fictional character, I think. It's almost maternal...except I do really want to have sex with him.
THIS.

She's daft, but it's because she likes people too much. *shrugs* That's Bella, I guess. I'd have no problem telling Jacob to piss off...but I wouldn't be friends with him in the first place.
