She was wonderful. What a legacy...

I haven't seen many of her films, but The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer is one that I often mention if someone asks me for a romantic comedy recommendation. So great.

She really was more than the first "Child Star". She helped the emotions of a country in need, she used her star status to bring light onto political issues, and served 6 presidents as a Goodwill Ambassador to the United States, not to mention all she did to break down stupid color lines. I read an article in which Bill "Bojangles" Robinson was asked "Out of all the great dancers you have worked with, who was your favourite?" And after a long pause he said 'Little Shirley Temple was not only a delightful child but one of the most gifted and naturally talented people I ever met... I would teach he a complicated new step in the morning, and that afternoon, she had it down pat..perfectly ( ... )

An amazingly talented little tyke and a totally classy grown lady, I was sorry to hear the news. Not much of "Old Hollywood" left now.

Sad Yet True. At least we have them... well.. most of their work and they live on in the silver screen.

You know, I was THIS CLOSE to owning a pair of Lillian Gish's lace gloves!! Another Story for Another Time....
