Jack was a gigantic, angry, black polydactyl cat. Parry was buff and cream colored. He was very sweet, and dumb as hell. They were awesome cats. I miss them.
This is a great movie, when Williams was at his peak. And I think it was one of the last movies that Gillian was able to make w/out extreme oversight.
Have you seen Tideland? Bridges is in that (shortly) also. The movie was so good that Gillian had to add a disclaimer to the beginning of the film telling people not to go mental about the plot.
But ...
I just finished working on a book chapter yesterday ... another on the Big Lebowski, and I couldn't not notice this
Isn't that an awesome part... that whole scene in Grand Central is amazing. Gilliam blows my mind, EVERY FILM is soooo different from the one before or after...what was after this one...I think 12 Monkeys....THEN Fear and Loathing. He can do ANYTHING!!
Thanks for the great review. Gilliam, as you know, is one of my favorite directors whose body of work is matched only by Orson Welles, Kubrick and maybe Hal Ashby or Ridley Scott. I also recommend this or any film from Gilliam for fans who want a rich multi-layered experience. Gilliam's films get better with repeat viewings and can even change over time in a viewer's life. - Ximmer
