That was a great show! I normally never watch the last season of anything (no reason why, I just don't) but I watched every ep of that short series. I had no idea about the follow up movie. Is the movie worth the search or should I leave it be? Maybe I'll skip it, and it'll be my unwatched last season.
The Movie sucked in EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. Examples?!
1)No Rube and no explaination.
2)A new and very unattractive actress playing Daisy. Wasn't Daisy's whole shtick that she was pretty so got away with being self involved and annoying. This was an UNATTRACTIVE actress talking about how beautiful she was and how many Hollywood stars she banged back in the day.
3)Other than Reggie growing up to be a very pretty teenager, I remember NOTHING else except every ten minutes, my other half and I said "OMG, this sucks, they BUTCHERED it!!"
So it's your choice about the movie. But just the thought of the movie pisses me off, if that's a clue. LOL
I hate how it (the series) ended without any real ending. Nothing was resolved, just a regular episode and then it was over. I think that was the episode with R's daughter though. That part ALWAYS makes me cry. I know it's coming and I say "this time, I am not going to cry", and then I do. It's just done so tenderly and sweetly. Perfection.
Haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't comment on that. The series was really good, though; however, I disagree with the producer's attempt to tie Pushing Daisies to it (if you haven't seen Pushing Daisies, do so - the link is through Happy Time, which I feel was a little forced).
it is criminal this series ended as it did- one of my favorites. and the movie just sucked for all the reason others have indicated. plus- no fing waffle haus which will forever be my metaphor for life, death. my metaphor for fing everything. i knew it was going to just suck when they burnt der waffle haus down.
i bought the dvd set on a whim- i had never seen the show while it was broadcast. i sat stunned through the whole thing.
and yes it needed more betty- she reminds me of these fantastical women i have met throughout my life who dance so gracefully on and off the end of a pin. i am in awe of them.
Agreed, but I did some digging on why Betty disappeared (from the show, not metaphorically witn-IN the show) and I read that Rebecca Gayheart, while shooting the show in Canada, was involved in an ACCIDENTAL car accident in which a child died.
The powers that be love the Betty character but couldn't have that actress playing a "Reeper" since she just ACCIDENTALLY killed a child.
Noone else could be/do Betty that well so instead, they write in Daisy Adaire as another selfinvolved reeper. But Betty had Soul and and certain something Daisy lacked.
But yeah, that's the 411 on why we only had Rebecca/betty 5 ot 6 episodes.
