Re: My list for the pollcinematixyzSeptember 29 2012, 22:35:50 UTC
I've heard of 4...as for the rest, we shall see in the poll, eh. And what a way to make new friends, if only three people like one band, you've just made a couple buds. There are no losers!! As long as you list then in your comments, they will go in the poll.
And I strongly second/raise you your Pistols, Queen, Pumpkins, P.I.L. Kraftwerk, Numan and Gabriel.
But you just did Xim a HUGE favour since on his list would be half of mine but just under The Beatles, he'd say "Yes" or "Anderson, B, W, and Howe" (he's gonna hate that I just did that)
The ones coming after us are lucky cuz if they have 30 on their list, and go through here, the can cross of the ones already picked for the poll and just add on what hasn't been added first. that's why it sucked going first, and I had to have a chat with W. "Are you doing Bowie? Ok, I can do Kate. Are you doing Joy Division? Ok, I can do The Cure. Etc.
Now I know he's grumpy pre-coffee and that's good to know ;)
Don't feel obligated to use my list, I just had to see if I could name 10 bands I consistently listen to, haha.
Beatles (Could sing to Sgt. Pepper before I was 7) Fleetwood Mac Queen David Bowie The Police Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Billy Joel U2 Aerosmith Annie Lennox
And to be fair, these are more my fave classic rock list, because I'm huge on movie soundtracks and that doesn't quite fit the theme!
To be super fair, you can actually pick six more since we are doing up to 12 and six of your ten had already been picked. So if you wanna pick 6 more, including certain soundtracks, we are A-OK with that.
P.S. I am giddy I wasn't the only 6 year old singing Beatles albums to people. In the mid-80s, they thought I was a freak or a prodigy. A Freaky Prodigy.
As my mother notes in my baby book "She's not even two and she knows all the words of at least 100 songs. She gets up in her playpen and actually 'Boogies down'. I don't understand. My son didn't say a damn word til he was three!!"
Apparently he didn't have anything to say yet. Once he started talking, they were full on linear thoughts, but before then, he kept the secrets of the universe to himself...while I, on the otherhand, 'Boogied Down' with my bad 2 year old self, as mum said. And the Beatles was an early constant....Oh yes, for sure.
It was part of the best of mom's taste in music (the other part being Fleetwood Mac) as opposed to her worse taste in music (Michael Bolton and Robert Palmer (who isn't terrible, but isn't my taste at all)). And really, I try to forget my childhood fixation on NKOTB (and I still snigger thinking that my fave song at 5 was George Michael's Faith). So.
I like some George songs..and Fleetwood. Just don't tell anyone that while I HATE Momma Mia, I like the 'Abba Gold' Album. That's my guilty pleasure. man, but I WAS a dancing Queen!!! Young AND sweet, only 17.!!
'can you hear the drums, rainbow-jen?!? been many nights since we came to this land...there was something in the air that night, the starts were bright, rainbow jen!! They were shining there for you and me, for liberty. rainbow-jen!! Though we never thought that we could lose, there's no regret. If I had to do the same again, I would my friend, rainbow-jen'
Uh-Oh... Y is looking at me with disdain. Not for flirting with a girl again, he's use to that, but he just muttered "You are gonna make this an Abba day, aren't you?? Grrrr
I neither confirmed, nor denied.... but...
"if you change your mind, I'm the first in line, honey I'm still free, take a chance on me"
