First off, let me say that I like Marilyn. Better said, I like Marilyn's films but I love Marilyn as a person. (Not that I met her, she was way gone before I was born, but the dozen books on her I've read have given me, like so many, a feeling of knowing her...loving her).

I agree with this. Williams was wonderful and effervescent as Marilyn. However the script let it down somewhat. Obviously, I understand they were heavily relying on the source material - Colin Clark's diaries - however, I would loved to have see Williams' Marilyn transported into a film that dealt with some of the more layered and deeper elements of Monroe and her duality as a film star and as just a woman looking for love (and to be in control of herself).

Agreed. I love "There's no business like show business", "How to marry a Millionaire", her cameo in "All about Eve", "Seven Year Itch", and she really shows her depth in "Bus Stop" and "The Misfits" but my favourite is "Some Like It Hot". I think that one and 'Millionaire' show her as her truest self, beautiful child, sexy angel, and charming because she wasn't trying ( ... )
