I don't know much about Xena, but I remember something about Roseanne all being something she was writing and none of it (or some of it ) wasn't real. That show lost itself the moment they 'won the lottery' if I remember correctly.
Oh god. Rosanne's ending was horrendous. The entire last season, Dan has a heart attack, but they win the Lottery and are filthy rich instead of dirt poor and struggling all the time, Dan and Rosanne split up, they get back together, blah blah blah. Then it turns out, that entire last season was just Rosanne writing her 'ideal' life after the death of Dan. He didn't survive the heart attack after all, and there was no lottery winnings. She made it all up.
I disliked the Lost ending, but it had more to do with the convoluted quality of 'They're all dead' and how that came to light. I would be willing to re-watch and see if it does better knowing the ending, but it wasn't how I hoped to see the show turn out.
I also have to throw in Firefly, because there really was no ending, and as much as I know some loved Serenity, Joss's propensity to kill the character everyone loves chafes me a bit.
And I'll go further and say Star Trek: Voyager. So many WTF moments in the end. It seemed rushed and poorly thought out, which is a shame because I rather liked the series!
Though to point out a pretty good series end, I did like Alias. Given how it evolved, it couldn't have effectively ended any other way, and I appreciated that.
Gotta disagree on Leap. The ep itself was....interesting, in a Finnegan's Wake flying-over-my-head kinda way, but that final set of title cards just struck me as a bitchslap by Bellesario to the fans, which cut off all hope and future projects.
As for best? At least in terms of how it answered my expectations, the finale of Slings and Arrows. I went into the final ep thinking, NO! it can't be over! I love these people too much!, but when I finished, I felt an incredible sense of perfect closure for all involved. A Very Special Remake will never happen, and there's no need for one.
I thought "Newhart" had a fantastic ending, even though that it's one of my fave shows or anything. I like the LOST ending, and adored The Sopranos ending. That's probably my favorite in recent memory.
Battlestar Galactica pissed me off, as the whole Starbuck buildup was huge and offered NO payoff whatsoever. So many good characters got shafted, while Gaius got to live. That's bunk as hell.

That's even worse than when St Elsewhere was all in an autistic boys mind (before my time, but I've heard the tale many a time from disgruntled fans)
