two piece and a biscuit and a side of fail

Regular readers of this journal know that I loves me some fast food fried chicken. Since there's a KFC no more than three blocks away from my apartment, I've learned to love KFC. In fact, that location is usually crazy busy, with or without the coupons that regularly appear in my mailbox. On Toonie Tuesday, the day where you can get two pieces and ( Read more... )

food, money, stupid people

We eat KFC maybe once a year, in one glorious grease filled bender. There's not really any near where we live, fortunately. A similar promo here would probably bring down anarchy with the entitled masses here.

I've heard reports of people getting shirty and abusive with staff too, people. IT"S FREE, don't push your luck.

I don't blame some franchises for restricting coupon times or not taking them at all. Hell, some of the wacky promos shoppers runs leave me gobsmacked. Who thinks UP this shit?

People who don't have to work the front lines are the ones that think up this shit. Spend $50, get a $10 voucher for restaurants you don't live near or a subway card that doesn't work! Spend $75, get two passes to cineplex! (Do you run that promo back east?) Yeeargh.

I don't get why people get upset over free stuff. Last saturday was free comic book day. Went to my neighbourhood comic book store and there was a line to get to the comics, but since I didn't have much time, I opted to go to the store across from where I work. They had a lot of superhero stuff--which was okay--but none of the cool alternative-type comics that I really dig. On top of that, the Archie freebie consisted of old stories that I'd already read. Did I get all OMGWTFJFKFC over it, demanding my rightful supply of Drawn & Quarterly and Fantagraphics stuff as well as recently drawn Archie stories? No. I just took all the free comics I wanted, thanked them, and left. They don't have to give me free stuff. But I appreciate the gesture.

I saw the line up outside of the Kingsway one at 4pm. It was insane. 80

Also they should have learned a lesson off Popeye's.

Or the Denny's meal...or the Quiznos thing...or the free Dr Pepper...I could go on.

But yeah, the kingsway kfc was probably mobbed with gladstone students or something. And we don't even have the promotion here in Canada! Imagine if we did...oh man, I'd pretty much just avoid the corner of Broadway and Prince Albert.
