For the longest time, I was ambivalent about the Watchmen movie. While I'd read the book and geeked out when I saw the trailer in front of The Dark Knight, any excitement I felt was tempered by that one nagging doubt looming in the back of my mind: What if it sucks? Watchmen is the most satisfying movie-going experience I've had in years. There may be flaws and inconsistencies (it's been over a decade since I read the graphic novel) but I was too caught up in the story to notice - which is surely the point of going to the cinema in the first place.

You'd be surprised how many people miss that point. Then again, lots of them seem to go out of their way to have a bad time. I don't get it, I really don't.
