I may not drive a car, but that doesn't mean that I don't know gas prices are high. I see the stories on tv, read my friends list, and glance at the numbers on the Esso sign in my neighbourhood. But even if I didn't have access to these sources of information, I'd still be painfully aware that gas has gone up. How? As gas goes up, so does public

To illustrate my point about people not really thinking, take my dad. He needed to go to someplace around 60th and west boulevard. So he took the downtown bus, then the broadway bus, then the arbutus bus. He could have just taken the 25 to arbutus, then the arbutus to his stop. Or the 8, the 41, then the arbutus. It's like he has the mind of Kris, that robotic voice who used to tell me that the bus stop at broadway and fraser didn't exist.
I wish they'd eliminate the sunday schedule, too. Why can't they use Saturday's schedule? And yeah, the skytrain should run later. When I used to ride the nightbus, it was hell. I doubt things have changed much.

Speaking about stupid suggestions, Physics Boy lives on 26th and Fraser. He's from the States, and when he moved here, he used the Translink trip planner to figure out how to get to UBC. The trip planner told him to take some ridiculous rout that consisted of two or three buses! (Busing down to Granville and catching a bus there, or something.)

Because no one has to go anywhere on Sundays!

Remember that automated voice that you used to get when you called up transit info? Kris was her name, and she was fond of telling me that certain bus stops/routes didn't exist. It wouldn't surprise me if she designed the translink trip planner. ;)

Lattes while you wait... maybe a nice selection of muffins...
Seriously though, the #8 is one of the most over-used lines in all of Vancouver. Put more frequent buses up that way, and they all fill up. It's crazy making... need a continuous conveyor belt up and down Fraser, or a Skytrain leg judging by the volume of people the 8 brings downtown.
