I grew up in a town of two thousand people and I can't tell you how sick I am of feeling uncool. This boy told me once that I wouldn't understand The perks of being a wallflower. He probably just meant I wouldn't appreciate the Smiths references and you know, there he was right.

i don't see a first comment, miss taylor.

but yes, i do like the smiths. i had not ever listened to them when i read the book, however, and i don't think i'd probably heard of them, even, when that boy talked to me about it.

and i mean, i understood the significance of the smiths to charlie, because anyone who loves music gets that.
