Christmas and some other stuff

So we've been trying to get all Christmas ready around our house.  We got our tree last Monday and by Sunday we had finally managed to get it completely decorated.  It was a very slow process.  I really like the tree.  We were hoping to cut down a tree this year and were planning a trip to our friend's family tree farm with a group of people.   ( Read more... )

I like Clayton's on Main and Raff and Friends in the Eastern Hills. That is where I bought the kids' gifts from my aunt (she sent money)

Yeah. She carries the entire line of Melissa and Doug, which is fun. I bought Niyama some lacing beads and the toddler floor puzzle. I also bought Indra the "Bugs in a Jug" and some laminated place-mats with dry erase markers.

Thanks. It's hard not to sometimes. I can't say that I wasn't ever thankful for being little and finding a TON of presents under the tree though. Although I think Bode gets more then I ever did. My parents got us like 10 -15 presents, plus little stocking toys and we did kind of celebrate Hanukkah too but we only got small trinket toys for that. But Dan's parents...they go crazy! My parents cut out the over the top x-mas gifts once we were older too. Like okay you're not little anymore -you know who santa is - what do you want and we'll get you one or two nice things. But Dan's parents- we go over there and it's like whoa- we just had christmas at our house and now we get to have it all over again! But when you find something good and you picture them playing with it and loving it-it's hard to resist.

it is. plus everything i have bought for the past 4ish months (if i didn't need it RIGHT THEN) became a gift to be wrapped under the tree. so there's lots of little things that i probably would have gotten anyway, haha!
