When Dave left, so did his two cats. Simon Kitteh would wander around the house calling and looking for them, and he'd run outside when the door opened and try to pick up their trail. It seemed like he needed a friend

Aw, that's such a sad image of Simon. I'm glad he has a new friend! My cats would be devastated if one of them disappeared.

I have to say, if I were that cat and I'd known that Elric had been available but I didn't get it, I'd be seriously depressed. Well, better Elvin than Elmer.
