Caffeine withdrawal is horrible. :( If you like and have access to tea, it can help take the edge off of it. Excedrine (which has some caffeine) helps as well.

*hugs* Be strong petal. I gave up sugar years ago, I use sweetners instead so perhaps you should try though? Alice Cooper says it's his prefered drug of choice :)

Know how you feel about the weight loss thing. I joined weight watchers on-line at the start of January... my weight was just going up all the time and I know if I don't get it in hand I'll be having a heart attack in the future. It's always hard to do the things we must do... I always have a "free-day" when I diet, as I want to eat all that bad stuff. So when I get weighted, that's the day!

Thinking of you.

I gave up coffee last January when I stepped onto the IVF train. It was absolutely horrible (and it didn't help that I was on a boatload of hormones at the same time I was having caffeine withdraws). I never went back between cycles, and I didn't start drinking it again during these last three months that I've had to take off. I wanted to soooo much, but I remember how freaking bad I felt coming off, and I didn't want to set myself up for the caffeine DTs again ( ... )

Try tea instead of coffee.
Some oolong or jasmine tea (leaves, not bags - bags taste wrong) dont need sugar & are still a warm/hot drink to suppliment coffee. Irish breakfast tea by twinings or lipton (bags are fine on this one - go figure) is a really nice coffee substitute - tastes nice with a dash of milk or without & even the most sugar addicted person can get away with no more than 1 level tea spoon of sugar in it. Plus, it's caffienated. So you're still getting your morning hit.
I used to be 6 sugars in a coffee.... now I'm only having 1 in a fresh ground (double shot) espresso... unless we add spices etc, like ground cinnamon or nutmeg, or hazelnut & cardamon, in which case i now don't need the sugar. ^.^
