I really loved how you not only used the prompt well, but how the idea of jazz pretty much permeated the whole piece. It has the lovely, free-form structure to it, but still had a definite narrative arc. Does that make sense? What I mean to say is that jazz itself gives the impression of being entirely improvisational, but, when studied, has a definite structure to it and this story felt the same. That's fantastic, btw.
He moves to a table and waits there as Remus steps out from behind the bar to join him. The music swirls around them, all broken chords and improvisational rhythms. Nothing is expected, but it’s beautiful just the same.
That really sums it all up, does it not?
Oh, and I may end-up as a bartender, myself, so this especially resonated for me.
This was really wonderful!
