Dear Vidders on my list: If one was thinking of attempting to vid when one had no prior experience, where would one go to find out how to get started? Is there a "vidding for dummies" post out there somewhere
( Read more... )
I am no vidder, but... The "step zero" question (and it's one you probably want to edit the answer into your post) is are you on Windows, Mac, or other? :)
Hello. Welcome to the wonderful world of vidding. *g*
The very simplest way to get started, as a Windows user, is to use Windows Movie Maker, which should already be available to you. I recommend just playing around with that to get comfortable with it prior to actually vidding anything. Here are some of my favorite vidding 101 posts, which after a quick perusal, still should work for you:
The A&E's Technical Guide for Dummies (the A&E guide is the definitive tech guide, IMO; this post is by a new vidder who has gone through it painstakingly and made it make sense to the rest of us *g*)
Video Editing Resources (a nice collection of software names, at least, that you can look into)
