Yeah, I didn't really buy the sudden onset of Tony's gambling problem - especially since anyone who's been watching since the storyline involving Robert Patrick knows how Tony feels about compulsive gamblers. I guess I can accept it as a consequence of other things in the story, though, like the repurcussions of losing Vito's money-making skills, and Tony's unwillingness to downsize his lifestyle.
And I agree that something very ambiguous went on with AJ's girlfriend. I'd expect to find out more about that, although The Sopranos sometimes just leaves things like that hanging.
Yeah, you're right - you never know what David Chase is going to do. :-)
Also, I totally missed Southside Johnny, but I saw his name in the credits as playing "himself" - was he in the scene with Nancy Sinatra? I'll have to go back and watch again.
