I've only been there once and it was the most beautiful place in the world - I have photos of lakes that you can turn upside down and not even notice. :3
The Patron Saint of Glasgow is St. Mungo. I saw TONS of St. Mungo things everywhere. There's a really cool Museum called the St Mungo Museum of Religion that showcases all the world's religions (and is not overly biased towards anyone of them, which was nice) that I kept taking a picture of especially where the name was prominantly displayed... and the picture was never on my digital camera when I went back through the pictures I'd taken that day. It took 3 tries! Dang magic barriers.
There summer is our winter, so temperature alone might influence you to head back. But Scotlands awesome, I highly recommend it!
I thought someone might recognise Eileen Doonan from Highlander, its been in a lot of things. I found prettier castles, though. Although the day I was there they were about to close the insides early for an American couple who were about to get married there. Ultimate destination wedding, that. They didn't allow for any photos to be taken inside but I have lots of great ones from all around the castle.
Also, I spent far too long in the medieval kitchen that they'd set up that explained how everything was done and how and what types of foods they ate. And how many cooks it took to prepare a normal meal for the castle versus a feast. I was fascinated. Is it any wonder I went for Kaye first??
